The Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE) and Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the World Bank, will host a Professional Accountancy Organization (PAO) Workshop from May 19 to 21, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Addis Ababa. Dr. Eyob Tekalegn, the State Minister of the Ministry of Finance, will be the guest of honor, alongside officials from various governmental and non-governmental organizations.
This workshop is part of a technical assistance mission aimed at supporting the establishment of the Ethiopian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ETICPA) and implementing the Accounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) Framework. The event will gather international and regional experts from the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and other African PAOs.
Key topics of focus will include sharing experiences and best practices in PAO development, presenting the roadmap for ETICPA, discussing strategies for implementing the ATQ Framework, and facilitating dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders. This initiative seeks to strengthen the accounting profession in Ethiopia and enhance the capacity of local professionals to meet international standards, ultimately contributing to economic growth and transparency in financial reporting.
