ETICPA Interim Governing Council Leaders Engages with PAFA CEO on Strategic areas of the Institute.

Addis Ababa, October 24, 2025 – The Interim Governing Council of the Ethiopian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ETICPA) held a productive discussion with Mrs. Alta Prinsloo the Chief Executive Officer of the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA), to address critical aspects of the institute’s strategic plan and explore pathways for future development.

The meeting, which took place at the Radisson Blue International Hotel, focused on positioning ETICPA as a leading institution in accounting and auditing across the continent. Council leaders emphasized the importance of adopting best practices from both continental and international frameworks to enhance the institute’s credibility and effectiveness.

Mrs. Alta shared insights on the evolving landscape of accounting standards and practices, highlighting the need for continuous professional development and the establishment of robust governance structures.

The discussions also touched on the necessity of building partnerships with other accounting bodies to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The IGC, ETICPA leaders expressed their commitment to implementing a strategic plan that aligns with PAFA’s vision, aiming to elevate the standards of accounting education and practice in Ethiopia. The IGC leaders aim to initiate programs that will cultivate a new generation of skilled accountants equipped to meet global challenges.

As ETICPA progresses as an emerging institution, its partnership with PAFA marks a crucial advancement toward achieving excellence and establishing a standard for accounting practices in the region. This collaboration is set to be initiated with the upcoming implementation of the Accounting Technician qualification (ATQ).
