On 4th September 2025, the leaders of the Interim Governing Council of the Ethiopian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, ETiCPA discussed with the Senior Financial Management Specialist Mr. Abiy Demissie, on the areas they can work with the World Bank-Ethiopia.
On that day, the Chairman of the Interim Management Council, Ato Fekadu Agonafer, said that the support of the World Bank-Ethiopia for the establishment of the institute was great and he expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the contribution made by the bank as an Institute and the dignity of Mr Abiy in person.
After the Institute was established by law in the FDRE House of People's Representatives, the leaders of the Interim Governing Council, IGC were appointed and there with the sense of urgency.
Similarly, he said that the bank's contribution to the current progress in ensuring the quality of financial reports and audits quality assurance made in Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia is significant.
Mr. Abey expressed his heartfelt thanks for the initiatives of the leaders of the IGC and mentioned that the bank is doing many activities for the development of Ethiopia in various fields and explained that not only the institute but also the Regulatory body, AABE will provide appropriate support for the effectiveness of the profession as usual.
He also stated that the World Bank is ready to assist the IGC, in prioritizing and especially in the issues that planned to carry out in the next six months.
