The Ethiopian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ETiCPA) is set to be formally launched on December 11, 2025, marking a major milestone in Ethiopia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen professional accountancy standards and enhance financial transparency nationwide.
The launch ceremony will take place in Sheraton Hotel, Addis Ababa and is expected to draw high-level government officials, leaders of regulatory bodies, and representatives from both regional and global accounting organizations.Senior government authorities, including leaders from ministries, federal agencies, and the Civil Service Commission, are anticipated to attend the event, reflecting the national significance of ETiCPA’s establishment.

The institute’s formation aligns with Ethiopia’s Reform agendas which emphasize professionalization, accountability, and improved service delivery in the public sector. International partners are also expected to play a prominent role at the ceremony.
Top executives from the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and the World Bank Group have confirmed their participation, demonstrating strong global support for Ethiopia’s efforts to build a competitive and internationally recognized accounting profession.
The launch program, organized with the ATQ, will showcase the institute’s mandate, strategic objectives, and its role in enhancing the credibility of financial reporting in Ethiopia.
ETiCPA is expected to play a transformative role in preparing certified public accountants who meet global standards, thereby strengthening investor confidence and contributing to the country’s economic aspirations.
